• Takes its name from the town of Qaqortoq where it is extracted .

Origin : 

• Greenland Provenance Ilimaussaq Complex, Qaqortoq, Greenland. The deposits overlook the Fjords at an altitude of 700m. They are steep and difficult to access. In addition, they are only exploitable for two months of the year when the snow melts, hence the extreme rarity of this mineral .
