Tsavorite is the name given to green grossular garnet. This gem was discovered in Tanzania in 1967 by Bridges Campbell. The name "tsavorite" was coined in 1974 by Campbell Bridges and Tiffany Henry Platt and is derived from the name of Tsavo National Park in Kenya. .
