Crystalline and cryptocrystalline varieties of quartz

• Quartz comes in many crystalline varieties due to the presence of other elements during its formation, which notably change its hue or color. The best known are smoky quartz, rose quartz, amethyst, citrine and ametrine (a mixture of citrine and amethyst).
• Cryptocrystalline varieties of quartz, mainly composed of microcrystalline silica and quartz, include chalcedonies (agates, chrysoprase, flint, onyx, sardonyx, carnelian, jasper) and heliotrope or bloodstone.

The properties of quartz in lithotherapy

• In lithotherapy, rock crystal can be used in all circumstances. Firstly, because it is the ultimate healing stone: all quartz crystals are in harmony with the body in order to realign its vibrations and restore balance.
• It is this ability to enter into osmosis with the body that makes quartz crystals so effective. Since most pathologies, especially mental and neurological illnesses, are linked to a kind of "chemical" instability, quartz crystals help restore balance.

The recurring use of rock crystal in lithotherapy is also due to its ability to amplify the vibrations of other stones and crystals. One way to do this is to place four quartz points around each crystal to intensify its beneficial effects. The stones and rock crystals can then be placed on the chakras targeted by the treatment, while the person receiving it remains lying down.

• For intestinal and digestive problems, you can make a quartz elixir by placing rock crystal in a bowl of water, along with red jasper and magnesite. Soak your stones in it overnight and drink this elixir every morning for 1 to 2 months. You can also use it for this purpose if your goal is to lose weight.

Cleaning, recharging, reprogramming:

• Clean with clear spring water or filtered water (never add salt to the water. Salt alters the structure of the mineral and damages it). Soak the mineral overnight in an unmarked glass container, then take it out in the morning to rinse it with new spring or filtered water. 
• Direct recharging on a crystal or amethyst druse, in a crystal or amethyst geode. You can also place a dozen laser or rock crystals in a circle (like a time dial), points towards the center, and place your minerals in the center to recharge them. Another method is to place your minerals in a singing bowl: Tibetan or crystal bowl, (on a cotton cloth to avoid bowl / mineral vibrations), then ring the bowl to fill your minerals with this sound energy.
