• Nephrite / Jade-nephrite / "Jade" (variety of actinolite).

Etymology:

• Nephrite: From the Greek nephros=kidney (Werner, 1780) probably due to the shape of the balls and nodules | Jade: Term grouping together two minerals of different natures but visually similar: Nephrite and Jadeite.

Group, Family:

• Amphibole Group | Central member of the Tremolite to Ferro-actinolite series.

Color :

• Light green, Apple green, Yellowish green, Green, Dark green, Brown, Grayish, sometimes Shimmering.

Chandelier:

• Vitreous to Fatty, Mast.

Origin :

• Germany, Poland, Colombia, China, Taiwan, New Zealand, Mexico, Burma etc.

Crystal system:

• Monoclinic.

Chemical composition:

• Nephrite~Actinolite: Ca2(Mg,Fe2+)5Si8O22(OH)2 central member of the Tremolite series: Ca2Mg5Si8O22(OH)2 to Ferro-actinolite: Ca2Fe2+5Si8O22(OH)2 | Coloration: Green to Yellowish-green: Trace of chromium and/or iron in the form Fe2+ in octahedral coordination.

• Opaque to Translucent.

• 2.90 to 3.06 (usually around 2.95).

Cleaning, recharging, reprogramming:

• Clean with clear spring water or filtered water (never add salt to the water. Salt alters the structure of the mineral and the abyss). Soak the mineral overnight in an unmarked glass container, then take it out in the morning to rinse it with fresh spring or filtered water.
• Direct charging on a crystal or amethyst druse, in a crystal or amethyst geode. You can also place a dozen laser crystals or rocks in a circle (like a time dial), points towards the center, and place your minerals in the center to charge them. Another method is to place your minerals in a singing bowl: Tibetan or crystal bowl, (on a cotton cloth to avoid bowl/mineral vibrations), then ring the bowl to fill your minerals with this sound energy. Last method is to place your minerals on a disc (wood or mineral) engraved with the flower of life or the seal of Solomon or any other form of sacred geometry.
