Black Spinel

Short presentation :

• Black Spinel is very resistant, more resistant than black Tourmaline. This is alluvial, that is to say it was rolled by the river, naturally. It was then rolled slightly. Which explains its “prune” shape. Spinel belongs to the cubic system which gives it a structuring and highly concentrated energy.
• “Spinel” refers to both the name of a mineral and a group of a dozen cubic minerals. It is an oxide of aluminum and magnesium; traces of iron give it its black color, chrome gives it red, and cobalt gives it blue.

Spinels

• It often appears in the form of hard glassy octahedra. Russia has one of 400 carats. There are "trapiche" spinels from the Kachin state in northern Burma.
