Presentation :

• Carnelian is a red variety of chalcedony, which is itself a cryptocrystalline variety of quartz. The formula of this mineral family is SiO2. Carnelian owes its color to hematite inclusions.

• Carnelian (variety of chalcedony).

Etymology:

• From Latin corneus = horny (Agricola, 1546).

Group, Family:

• Quartz Family (Microcrystalline/Cryptocrystalline) | Chalcedony Family.

Color :

• Red, Red-orange, Orange to Dark Yellow, Orange-Brown.
• Carnelian, translucent to opaque, is a uniform orange-red to dark red color, unlike its mineralogical "cousin" agate, which has layers of different colors. Sardonyx, from the same family, is browner. Long exposure to sunlight can naturally darken the color of carnelian.

Properties and virtues in lithotherapy:

Virtues on the physical level:

• Particularly helpful for women: its contact reduces discomfort from pelvic pain in women (ovaries, fallopian tubes, etc.) and menstrual pain.
• Promotes fertility and helps reduce pain during periods.
• Very good companion for pregnant women and during childbirth.
• Also helps all those who encounter blockages to procreation by stimulating, among other things, intimate activity with the Partner.

Chakras:

• Placed on the Sacral chakra, it will activate and rebalance it, conducting the energy of the vital fire to the other chakras.
• Placed on the solar plexus, carnelian soothes anger and jealousy.

Cleaning, recharging, reprogramming:

• Clean with clear spring water or filtered water (never add salt to the water. Salt alters the structure of the mineral and the abyss). Soak the mineral overnight in an unmarked glass container, then take it out in the morning to rinse it with fresh spring or filtered water.
• Direct charging on a crystal or amethyst druse, in a crystal or amethyst geode. You can also place a dozen laser crystals or rocks in a circle (like a time dial), points towards the center, and place your minerals in the center to charge them. Another method is to place your minerals in a singing bowl: Tibetan or crystal bowl, (on a cotton cloth to avoid bowl/mineral vibrations), then ring the bowl to fill your minerals with this sound energy. Last method is to place your minerals on a disc (wood or mineral) engraved with the flower of life or the seal of Solomon or any other form of sacred geometry.
• Reprogramming: Reprogramming is not about telling your mineral what to do or not to do, but about putting the mineral in resonate with you to ask it to do what it needs to do, for you. Reprogramming must be done after each cleansing and must remain simple.
