• Citrine owes its citrus color primarily to the tiny amounts of iron hydroxides it contains. It can sometimes be confused with yellow topaz due to their virtually identical hues. With a glassy luster, it comes in several varieties depending on its tones, ranging from lemon yellow to Madeira red, including golden yellow, brownish orange, golden brown, and mandarin orange. The green tips at the heart of lemon yellow citrine help identify this variety. Golden-yellow citrine, on the other hand, shines like the precious metal of the same name. Madeira citrine is recognizable by its orange-red tones, reminiscent of the color of the famous Madeira wine. Orange and yellow hues combine in mandarin citrine. Multicolored citrine, on the other hand, has a gradient from golden yellow to colorless.
• Belonging to the quartz family, citrine is a stone that is rarely found in its natural state.
• Its deposits, which are frequently those of amethysts, are located mainly in the United States, Spain, Uruguay, and Madagascar. However, Brazil is the main producer of citrine with its significant deposits in the states of Rio Grande do Sul and Minas Gerais. Moreover, the most beautiful stones come from this country, to name just one, the famous faceted citrine of more than 2,000 carats, which is exhibited in Washington, at the Smithsonian Institute.

Cleaning, recharging, reprogramming:

• Clean with clear spring water or filtered water (never add salt to the water. Salt alters the structure of the mineral and damages it). Soak the mineral overnight in an unmarked glass container, then take it out in the morning to rinse it with new spring or filtered water. 
• Direct recharging on a crystal or amethyst druse, in a crystal or amethyst geode. You can also place a dozen laser or rock crystals in a circle (like a time dial), points towards the center, and place your minerals in the center to recharge them. Another method is to place your minerals in a singing bowl: Tibetan or crystal bowl, (on a cotton cloth to avoid bowl / mineral vibrations), then ring the bowl to fill your minerals with this sound energy. Last method, place your minerals on a disc (wood or mineral) engraved with the flower of life or the seal of Solomon or any other form of sacred geometry.
