Etymology: 

• Jadeite: From the Spanish pietra de ijada = stone against kidney pain (Damour, 1863) | Jade: Term bringing together two minerals of different natures but visually similar: Jadeite and Nephrite.

Group, Family: 

• Pyroxenes group.

Color : 

• White, Grayish, Light green (Albite-jadeite: Light green), Apple green, Green, Yellowish green, "cottony" mixture of White and Green, Dark green (Imperial Jade), (Dark green and Black: Chloromelanite), Red-brown, Yellow, Dark Yellow, Brown, Dark Magenta to Light Violet (Lavender Jadeite), Blackish, sometimes Shimmering.

• Glassy.

• Myanmar, Japan, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Guatemala, United States, Italy, Burma, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand.
